Here are the pearls of wisdom about Spoon’s brilliant new single “Got Nuffin” that got cut from my report on last night’s opening round of SpoonX3:
“Those lyrics seem to say that Daniel has given up everything but his corporeal being in his band’s ascent to rock royalty, and perhaps the overwhelming success of buoyant, pop-oriented hits like “The Underdog” and “Sister Jack” compromised him to the point that he now feels the need to bludgeon everyone with clench-fisted rock.”
